Principal Message

Principal Leslie Bertram

Dear Centerville Community:

I am Leslie Hogan Bertram and I want to introduce myself as the new principal at Centerville Elementary. I am very excited to be here!

I entered education with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children.  This is my 22nd year as an educator, with ten years in the classroom, and seven as an English Language Arts Coordinator/teacher mentor. For four of those years, I worked at State Office of Ed. as a teacher instructor. I just finished my 6th year as an administrator.

I graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Education with a minor in music, Weber State with a master’s in Education and Curriculum Design/Reading Endorsement, and Utah State with an Administrative Certificate.  My best education has come from working with amazing educators, parents, and students.

I live with my husband Brad and dog Kevin in Kaysville.   We are the parents of six lovely, adult children and grandparents of 12 remarkable grandchildren. I love spending time with family, reading, traveling, playing the piano, guitar, organ, flute, and performing in a bluegrass band on the mandolin. Our family has deep personal ties to Centerville.

My philosophy of education is to educate the “whole child” with the highest quality instruction. This includes core subjects, social emotional well-being, service learning, and arts integration. I am committed to working in partnership with staff, community, and families to support our children to reach their maximum potential.

I look forward to working with you and your children!

Sincerely,

Leslie Bertram

Principal, Centerville Elementary School
